The Central Intelligence Agency discusses how they totally redesigned their traditional new-hire program using a blended learning approach that has dramatically increased its impact and enabled them to increase "through-put".

•    An online learning environment that supports two goals: helping complete administrative "musts" and providing descriptions of the primary functions of the Agency that complement classroom discussions and presentations
•    A new employee website to support the learning environment that serves as the Agency's first "Employee Handbook" with links to intranet sites that new employees will need in their first weeks
•    An "alumni" feature that enables participants to stay in touch upon completion
